Description:
The Kenneth B. Schwartz Center Speaker Series presents
Patient-Centeredness and Patient Safety: How Are They
Interconnected?, featuring Donald M. Berwick, MD, MPP,
FRCP, President and CEO of the Institute for Healthcare
Improvement. A panel of caregivers and a patient
will respond to Dr. Berwick's presentation followed by a facilitated
discussion.
Audience:
Physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, social
workers, psychologists, and other allied health professionals
Objectives:
After participating in this activity, attendees will be able
to:

Better balance quality care and patient safety while keeping
patients' voices front and center

Effectively listen to the patient's voice as the driver of care
decisions, despite outside pressures

Define what constitutes patient centeredness care in light of
quality, safety, and health reform.

designates this educational activity for a maximum of 2.0
