MMS Handwashing Mascot, "Soapy" Goes on the Road
Due to the most recent outbreak of flu in schools, “Soapy,” the Massachusetts Medical Society's handwashing mascot made an appearance in several schools in Hampden County.  The children were taught the “whys, whens, and hows" of handwashing. Designed for children in grades K-3, the program featured Suzanne Skibinski, executive director of HDMS, who engaged the school children in an interactive presentation about proper handwashing.  After the presentation the children were visited by “Soapy," a costumed cartoon-like character.
