The Massachusetts Medical Society wishes to applaud Senator
Moore for his filing of S 1487. The costs of establishing
electronic prescribing and medical records systems are well
established. While the costs fall upon health care providers, the
benefits of such systems are widely felt throughout society.
Therefore the MMS strongly supports legislative recognition for
direct state tax credits for all forms of corporations who make
investments in electronic medical records and prescribing.
We urge the Joint Committee on Revenue to support this
legislation and further this important concept.
