Giving to the Foundation

The Massachusetts Medical Society and Alliance Charitable Foundation supports organization providing direct care and services impacting the health of the community, filling a major gap in care and services to vulnerable populations. Because of the support we receive from MMS we can keep our overhead expenses extremely low, and therefore you can be assured that 100% of your donation goes directly to our grantmaking. Many have donated over the past year, and we thank these contributors for their much-needed support.

Give in the Future!
Become a member of the 1781 Society

The 1781 Society was created in September 2007 to recognize and honor those extraordinary people who remember the Massachusetts Medical Society and Alliance Charitable Foundation in their estate plans with outright bequests to the Foundation or have named the Foundation as the beneficiary of a life insurance policy or retirement plan. A planned gift not only helps you plan for your future, but helps us plan ours, too. As we remain steadfast in our mission to improve access to appropriate health care for the under-served and the most vulnerable patients in our communities to ensure people get the health care they need and deserve, we know none of this is possible without your continued support. Your gift will have a lasting impact on our ability to fill these gaps in services and is a wonderful testament to your commitment to our work and to carrying on our mission well into the future.

Making a Bequest

A charitable gift from your estate is a favored method of giving that enables you to achieve your financial goals and benefit the Foundation. No other planned gift is as simple to implement or as easy to change should you ever need the assets during your lifetime.

A bequest may be right for you if:

  • You would like to make a gift to the Foundation.
  • You want the flexibility to change your mind.
  • You want continued access to your wealth, should you need it.
  • You are concerned about outliving your resources.

How it Works:

  • You make the Foundation a beneficiary in your will, or a designated beneficiary of your retirement plan, life insurance policy, or other asset.
  • The Foundation receives your gift when your estate is settled.

As you consult your attorney on the selection of appropriate wording to reflect your own goals and intentions regarding the Foundation; be sure the organization’s correct legal name appears in all final documents as:

Massachusetts Medical Society and Alliance Charitable Foundation, Tax ID# 22-3199624.

Let Us Know
If you have already named the Foundation as a beneficiary please let us know so that we can welcome you as a member of the 1781 Society. By joining the 1781 Society, you become part of the Foundation’s legacy and will help to inspire others to support our mission with future gifts.
