Avian Flu and Pandemic Preparedness

Practical Information and Strategies for Physicians

Sponsored by the Massachusetts Medical Society and its Committee on Public Health,
Committee on Physician Preparedness, and Committee on Global Medicine

This course was developed from a live program held on March 9, 2006 at the MMS Headquarters in Waltham, MA.  Utilizing slides and audio you will experience each speaker's presentation and discussion on Avian Flu and Pandemic Preparedness: Practical Information and Strategies for Physicians.

DESCRIPTION

Do you know how to respond to patients’ concerns about avian flu?
Is your practice prepared for a pandemic?
Do you know what to do to protect your patients, your family, and yourself in the event of a pandemic?

There has been much media attention to avian flu and the potential for a pandemic, yet physicians feel inadequately informed about these issues. This online program is designed to provide practical information to help physicians respond to questions from their patients, and to understand the resources, tools and mechanisms that will help them prepare their practices and their patients for a potential flu pandemic.
