Course Overview
This CME activity was developed
from the archives of the presentations recorded at the CMS National
E-Prescribing Conference held on October 7, 2008 in Boston, MA. For a
complete list of courses developed from this event, go to www.massmed.org/cme/CMS_eprescribing.
CMS is leading the charge in
promoting a nationwide adoption of E-prescribing, setting standards
specific to Medicare physicians and pharmacists. This session consists
of three presentations that examine present and future E-prescribing
standards, including those standards for Medicare Part D, how they
affect practitioners who participate in Medicare, and how one ensures
that they qualify for incentives. Speakers also present information on
E-prescribing systems certification.

This program is intended for
physicians and allied health professionals.

E-prescribing standards for Medicare Part D and how they affect the
prescriber and dispenser.

for Part D plans.

E-prescribing standards and CMS initiatives.

Describe the benefits of

E-prescribing system to qualify for the incentive.

The Massachusetts Medical Society
designates this educational activity for a maximum of 1.5 AMA
PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should only claim
credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the
activity.
This program meets the criteria of
the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine for risk management
study.
Participants will receive a
confidential report of their examination score. You must receive a score
of 70% or better to receive AMA PRA Category 1
Credit™. A confirmation of credit will be issued at the
end of the course to those who successfully complete the
examination.
This activity has been planned and
implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the
Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the Joint
Sponsorship of the Massachusetts Medical Society and the Centers for
Medicare and Medicaid Services.
