Course Overview
This program deals with the concept
of teams within the practice environment. The anatomy of a team is
reviewed. Definitions of teams are explored, including team-based
care and office personnel. Effective team meeting structures are
outlined. You will develop an understanding of the concepts that
make a team work including the development of clear roles and consistent
policies.
This session consists of two
presentations: Presentation #1: Through the Patient’s Eyes:
Improving the Experience of Care of Patients, Clinicians and
Staff #2: What Makes a Good Team?

Intended Audience
This program is intended for
physicians, nurses, office managers, and other staff at physician
practices.

Objectives
Understand how the
development of core competencies will assist in the interviewing,
hiring, skill development, and the review process.
Identify structural supports
for patient-centered care.
Learn the attributes of
strong teams.
Course Credit
Deadline for completing the course
is June 30, 2012.
The Massachusetts Medical Society
designates this educational activity for a maximum of 1.5
AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should only
claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the
activity.
This program meets the criteria of
the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine for risk management
study.
Participants will receive a
confidential report of their examination score. You must receive a score
of 70% or better to receive AMA PRA Category 1
Credit™. A confirmation of credit will be issued at the
end of the course to those who successfully complete the
examination.
This activity has been planned and
implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and policies of the
Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the Joint
Sponsorship of the Massachusetts Medical Society and Massachusetts
Health Quality Partners.
The Massachusetts Medical Society
is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical
Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for

exam and receive AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ for a nominal
fee is available at the end of the course. The course fees are as
follows:

Non-MMS member: $30 ($20 per
credit)
