Course Overview

This CME activity was developed from the archives of the presentations recorded at the CMS National E-Prescribing Conference held on October 7, 2008 in Boston, MA. For a complete list of courses developed from this event, go to www.massmed.org/cme/CMS_eprescribing.

The following presentations provide real-life user experience of E-prescribing and EHR systems. Physician faculty will share their success stories and how they have overcome some barriers associated with implementing this new technology.  They will also identify what work remains for providers, pharmacies, and payers to fully implement an electronic prescribing network.

This session, consisting of three presentations, includes a physician’s perspective in the field, sharing his experience in the transition to E-prescribing including conversion-related how to’s:

  • how to select the right system for your environment
  • how to moderate the impact of implementation in your community, and
  • how to employ best practices for workflow management between physician and pharmacy system operations
