developed from a live program, EHR in Your Office - Let's Get
Started! held at MMS Headquarters in Waltham, MA on October
22, 2005. Utilizing audio and slides you
can experience Dr. Robert J. Lambert's presentation, E.H.R.
101.

Course Overview
E.H.R. 101 is devoted to
understanding why an electronic health record should be viewed as a new
tool for your practice. EHR terms are reviewed and defined. Methods for
inputting data into an EHR are described. You will learn the benefits
and dangers of templates in an EHR solution. Structured versus
unstructured data are explained and you will understand the
technological devices associated with an electronic health record
implementation.
Instructions for Completing this Course
and Exam
The following course was developed
from a live program. The course presentation will open in
a separate player window displaying the presentation slides,
synchronized audio and transcripts. In order to view this course, you
will need to download free Flash 8
software or higher if you do not already have it
installed on your computer.
When you are done viewing the
presentation module, close the window and click Proceed to Exam
in the left navigation bar. You will be directed through the
eCommerce screens. After payment is received, the exam will
display.
After completing the required
reading through the Course Information below, click on
Start Course to begin the activity.

The Massachusetts Medical Society
designates E.H.R. 101 for a maximum of 1 AMA PRA Category 1
Credits™. Physicians should only claim credit
commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
This program meets the criteria of
the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine for risk management
study.
Participants will receive a
confidential report of their examination score. You must receive a score
of 70% or better to receive AMA PRA Category 1
Credit™. A confirmation of credit will be issued at the
end of the course to those who successfully complete the
examination.
This activity has been planned and
implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and policies of the
Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the Joint
Sponsorship of the Massachusetts Medical Society, Blue Cross Blue Shield
of Massachusetts and Massachusetts eHealth Collaborative.
The Massachusetts Medical Society
is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical
Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for
physicians.

The E.H.R. 101 course and all
associated course materials are available free of charge. An opportunity
to complete an exam and receive AMA PRA Category 1 Credit for a nominal
fee is available at the end of the course. The course fees are as
follows:

Course Faculty
Robert Lamberts, MD works in a four
physician primary care office outside of Augusta, Georgia. He is
board certified in internal medicine and pediatrics. He attended medical
school at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia and did his
residency at Indiana University Hospital in Indianapolis. He
served for four years on the Logician User Group Board as President from
2000 to 2001. Dr. Lamberts is also a 2003 Davies Award Winner for EHR
Excellence in Primary Care. The Davies Awards are given each year to
practices that implement EHRs with high levels of success and gains in
practice quality and efficiency.
