Course Overview
This module defines change
management and discusses the how, what, and why of managing change. At
the end of this session, you will know the four stages of organizational
change and understand the model of change for individuals in your
organization. You will be able view and download tools to assist you in
managing the change that is necessary in any successful EHR
implementation.
Instructions for Completing this Course
and Exam
The following course was developed
from a live program. The course presentation will open in
a separate player window displaying the presentation slides,
synchronized audio and transcripts. In order to view this course, you
will need to download free Flash 8
software or higher if you do not already have it
installed on your computer.
When you are done viewing the
presentation module, close the window and click Proceed to Exam
in the left navigation bar. You will be directed through the
eCommerce screens. After payment is received, the exam will
display.
After completing the required
reading through the Course Information below, click on
Start Course to begin the activity.

The Massachusetts Medical Society
designates E.H.R. 101 for a maximum of 1 AMA PRA Category 1
Credits™. Physicians should only claim credit
commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
This program meets the criteria of
the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine for risk management
study.
Participants will receive a
confidential report of their examination score. You must receive a score
of 70% or better to receive AMA PRA Category 1
Credit™. A confirmation of credit will be issued at the
end of the course to those who successfully complete the
examination.
This activity has been planned and
implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and policies of the
Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the Joint
Sponsorship of the Massachusetts Medical Society, Blue Cross Blue Shield
of Massachusetts and Massachusetts eHealth Collaborative.
The Massachusetts Medical Society
is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical
Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for

The Managing
Change course and all associated course materials are
available free of charge. An opportunity to complete an exam and receive
AMA PRA Category 1 Credit for a nominal fee is available at the end of
the course. The course fees are as follows:

Course Faculty
Andrea Waxler, FACMPE is President
and CEO of emr Advance. In her previous positions she
served as Executive Director of Practice Services at the Massachusetts
eHealth Collaborative and a senior account executive for WebMD
Practice Services. While at WebMD, she had the account responsibility
for three hundred physician practices and was instrumental in EHR
implementations for practices throughout the New England area. Andrea
also serves as the executive director of Physicians First, a for profit,
a subsidiary of Harvard Pilgrim Health Care providing management and
consulting services for the twenty-seven thousand physicians in the
Harvard program network. She is a Fellow of the American College of
Medical Practice Executive. ACMPE is the standard setting and
certification body for the Medical Group Management Association, MGMA,
offering board certification and fellowship in medical practice
management. Fellowship in the American College of Medical Practice
Executive is the highest designation one can achieve.
