2013 Annual Oration

About the Orator

Dr. LongworthDavid L. Longworth, M.D. received his undergraduate degree from Williams College in 1974 where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and graduated summa cum laude with a degree in chemistry. He received his medical degree in 1978 from Cornell University Medical College where he was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha and was the valedictorian of his class. Dr. Longworth completed residency training in Internal Medicine at the University of California in San Francisco and thereafter fellowship training in Infectious Disease at Brigham and Womens and Beth Israel Hospitals at Harvard Medical School. He is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease.

Dr. Longworth joined the Department of Infectious Disease at Cleveland Clinic in 1986 and served as Chairman of the Department from 1992-2002.
