Good communication, patient education and documentation is essential in this informed consent model.  Many recent studies now show that there is a disconnect between what physicians "say" and what patients actually "hear" concerning the risk/benefits of treatment options.  This CME activity explores the current environment using case studies and recommends risk management strategies.
