Annual Fall Forum for the Free Health Care Programs

MMS Committee on Senior Volunteer Physicians
10th Annual Fall Forum

Wednesday, October 30, 2013, 6:00 – 8:30 p.m.
MMS Headquarters, 860 Winter St., Waltham, MA

Volunteering your time and expertise at free health care centers is a commendable way to share your medical expertise and time. However, there are regulations and requirements that need to be followed in order to pursue your altruistic goals.

Kathleen Finnerty-Schroth from Physicians Insurance Agency of Massachusetts and Rose Foss and Attorney Carol Purmot from the Board of Registration in Medicine will join us to discuss licensing regulations, board requirements and professional liability insurance concerns.

This will be an opportunity to learn more about the volunteer license category and what continuing medical education credits are required for license renewal, address real or imagined concerns about potential liability and more. The Forum is the once-a-year occasion to meet with your peers from other free care programs and share successes and concerns.

Whether you are currently a volunteer or someone who would like to learn more about the volunteer opportunities available through the Committee’s Health Center Program, this will be an informative evening.

This free forum is open for all volunteers, support staff and any physician who has considered this volunteer possibility. Please share this information with your colleagues and program staff.

RSVP is required. Please respond to Carolyn Maher at 781-434-7311, or via email at cmaher@mms.org
