Election of Special Committee Chairs and
Vice Chairs
- Staff liaison will conduct the election.
- Candidates must have served on the committee for at least one
year, though not necessarily the preceding year.
- Candidates need not be present for the election.
- Individuals can nominate themselves. No second is
necessary.
- Candidates need not give nomination speeches.
- No quorum of a committee is required to conduct elections.
- No proxy votes or absentee ballots can be accepted.
- Election should be by written ballot.
- The winner is that individual who receives the majority vote.
If there are more than two candidates and no one receives a
majority of the votes cast, the two candidates with the most votes
are to participate in a run-off election. The candidate receiving
the majority of votes cast is the winner.
