Social Media Guidelines for Physicians
Report and recommendations submitted to the MMS House of Delegates.
Covers the benefits and considerations for physicians' use of
social media for professional and personal purposes.
The report states, "Carefully planned and professionally
executed participation in social media by physicians is
professionally appropriate, and can be an effective method to
connect with colleagues, advance professional expertise, educate
patients, and enhance the public profile and reputation of our
profession." Adopted by the MMS House of Delegates on May 21,
2011.
