Dr. Kathleen McGraw is Honored by Franklin District Medical Society as 2013 Community Clinician of the Year
Doctors for a Day
Franklin has their High School Doctor for a Day program
annually. The program assists young people who have expressed an
interest in the field of medicine to have hands-on experience in
the complex health care environment.

Franklin District Medical Society Announces
Scholarships
The Franklin District Medical Society, the local chapter
of the Massachusetts Medical Society, is pleased to announce that
applications are now available for its Student Grant Aid Program.
The "Percy W. Wadman, M.D. Scholarship" is awarded to a medical
student(s) based on merit and financial need. Grants range from
$1,000 to $1,500 and are awarded annually. The following criteria
must be met for an individual to be considered:
- At least one parent or guardian must live in Franklin
County.
- A letter of matriculation must be submitted from the medical
school the individual is attending.
- A copy of the 1040 Federal tax form filed by the parent or
guardian for the last tax year must be submitted.
- A copy of the letter of recommendation from the undergraduate
school to the medical school must be submitted.

Requests for applications may be made to the Franklin District

All candidates will have an equal opportunity to qualify for the
grants, and recipients will be chosen by the Executive Committee.
Notification to the applicants will be by September.
The Massachusetts Medical Society was founded in 1781 to

health care." MMS is the oldest continuously operating medical
society in the country with 18,000 physicians and student members.
