Mangadhara R. Madineedi, M.D.
Waltham – April 30– Canton resident Mangadhara R. Madineedi, M.D., a physician with the VA Boston Healthcare System, has been honored by his peers of the Norfolk District Medical Society as the district’s 2013 Community Clinician of the Year.
The Community Clinician of the Year Award was established in 1998 by the Massachusetts Medical Society to recognize a physician from each of the Society’s 20 district medical societies who has made significant contributions to his or her patients and the community and who stands out as a leading caregiver. The Norfolk District is comprised of some 3,500 physicians practicing throughout Norfolk County. The award will be presented at the District Society’s annual meeting on April 24 at the Sheraton Needham Hotel.
Trained in internal medicine with a subspecialty in geriatrics, Dr. Madineedi is an attending physician in the Transitional Care Unit and the Geriatric Primary Care Clinics of the VA Boston Healthcare System. He has served on the VA Boston’s Governing Body and its Medical Executive Committee and is currently a member of its Professional Standards Board and its Patient Safety Committees.
Dr. Madineedi is also an Assistant Professor in Medicine at Harvard Medical School, where he is a member of the school’s Cross Cultural Care Committee, and an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Medicine at Boston University School of Medicine.
A graduate of Andhra Medical College in India, he completed his internship and residency at Carney Hospital in Boston and a Fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston.
He has been a member of the Massachusetts Medical Society since 1991 and has served as a member of the organization’s House of Delegates, and its Committees on Geriatric Medicine and Young Physicians Section. He currently is the President-Elect of the Norfolk District Medical Society.
