"Dr. Stancel Riley brought a high degree of professionalism to the operations of the Board of Registration in Medicine, with a deep knowledge of both clinical and patient safety issues. He oversaw the development of a major revision of the regulations governing licensing and the definitions of the practice of medicine, expanded online licensing capabilities, developed an opioid prescribing program for physicians to fulfill a legislative mandate for continuing medical education, and enhanced patient safety with improvements in the Board's patient care assessment program. His unique set of clinical and administrative skills, along with his personal dedication to patient safety and medical care, will be difficult to replace."
