  • LactMed 
    A National Library of Medicine peer-reviewed and fully referenced database of drugs to which breastfeeding mothers may be exposed. Among the data included are maternal and infant levels of drugs, possible effects on breastfed infants and on lactation, and alternate drugs to consider.
  • Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine
    The website of this worldwide organization of physicians provides physician education and facilitation of optimal breastfeeding practices, including protocols for care of breastfeeding mothers and infants.
  • Massachusetts Breastfeeding Coalition
    This statewide coalition’s mission is public health by making breastfeeding the norm through education, advocacy, and collaboration. MBC aims to help providers prevent breastfeeding problems, and recognize and solve them easily should they occur. Evidence-based materials for physicians and patients can be downloaded from the MBC website at no cost.
    National Women’s Health Information Center site provides patients with information in English and Spanish and a toll-free number to answer practical questions about breastfeeding. Includes a link to information about Baby Friendly Hospitals, human milk banks, infant formula, and where to go for help.
