The Boston Medical Library (BML) at the MMS headquarters has a
core reference and journal collection, including many American
Medical Association publications. Patrons are welcome to borrow
books in the collection and browse journals.
MMS publications, the New England Journal of Medicine, and the
Journal of the American Medical Association are held for 10 years.
Other clinical journals are held for three years. Electronic access
is available for a number of journals through the online library
catalog. Patrons can request articles, book chapters and books
through our online request system, known as Countway Doc.
If you are looking for a particular book or journal article, you
can now check the library catalog to see if it is available
in print in the MMS library.
BML members, MMS members and staff are welcome to borrow books.
If you borrow a book from the library during an unstaffed time, let
the librarians know by filling out a yellow circulation card.
A number of journals have free electronic open access to
selected years through Pubmed Central or the publisher. The library
catalog includes links to these free electronic journals.
If you can't come to the library personally or don't find what
you need in the MMS collection, it can be ordered through the
online article request service, Countway Doc.
