As president-elect, I am faced with an important task -
appointing members to the Society's committees. Through its
committees the MMS is able to promote member interests to the
public, business, legislature and state agencies.
The Society needs your active participation to ensure that the
ideas and opinions of resident physicians and fellows are well
represented on the Society's committees. Your willingness to
serve on a committee would be greatly appreciated. Please
take a moment to review the attached list of committees. If
you are interested in serving on a committee, please complete an
application form and return it to Society headquarters together
with a copy of your C.V. and a statement of interest by Monday, March 18, 2013.
To encourage appropriate representation of the Resident and
Fellow Section (RFS), all residents and fellows seeking committee
appointments will be recommended by the RFS leadership. Only
one resident or fellow will be appointed per committee.
In order to facilitate your participation, please be aware that
the Society will reimburse mileage, tolls and parking costs that
may be incurred as you travel to and from committee meetings.
Your involvement in Society programs and activities helps to
shape the future of medicine. I look forward to working with
you.
Ronald W. Dunlap, MD, FACC
President-Elect
