About the Award
Each year the MMS sponsors an Information Technology in Medicine
award program for Medical Students and Residents. Applications are
received in the fall and semi-finalists will present their projects to
the Committee on Information Technology on the evening of Wednesday,
December 4, 2013 in Waltham. The winning applicants in each category
are awarded a prize of $3000 in the spring of 2014. See below for

What?
Each year the Massachusetts Medical Society’s Committee on
Information Technology recognizes both a medical student and a member of
the hospital house staff or training program for the creation of
information technology solutions for medicine. The two Medical
Information Technology Awards are presented annually for functioning
projects substantially completed in the past year that use technology to
assist physicians in the practice of medicine, the teaching of medicine,
or the pursuit of clinical research.
Who?
The applicant must be a student, resident, or fellow at the time of
submission and be enrolled in one of the four Massachusetts medical
schools or a Massachusetts hospital or training program.
When and how?
- If you are interested and intend to
apply, please e-mail Leon Barzin (lbarzin@mms.org) as soon as possible
but no later than October 31. Full applications are due by Sunday, midnight
of November 10, 2013.
