Applying for Grants

Our Grants

The Foundation, through its Board of Directors, awards grants through two annual grant cycles: one for organizations and one for individuals.

Organizational Grants

The Foundation award grants to nonprofit organizations addressing one or more of the following funding priorities:

  • Quality health care services for the un- and underinsured
  • Behavioral health services when not available
  • Improved access to health care by overcoming barriers to health care delivery
  • Health promotion through proactive prevention, education, and outreach
  • Programs aimed at addressing the social determinants of health

Non-profit organizations must demonstrate a commitment to communities that have been historically marginalized or made vulnerable and are focused on one or more of the following:

  • Expanding access to high quality healthcare
  • Addressing the drivers of health
  • Reducing disparities in health
  • Promoting more equitable healthcare

Letters of Intent (LOIs) due January 15.

Individual Grants

Our individual grants, also known as our Global Health Studies grants, fund medical students and resident physicians who are pursuing international education that focuses on under resourced populations. By subsidizing up to $2,000 of travel expenses, we hope to contribute to the development of culturally competent physicians who are prepared to serve both local and international communities with humility and respect.

Applications due February 1.

Foundant – Our Online Grant Management System

In an effort to increase our availability, flexibility and usability, we have implemented Foundant, an online grant management system. Among many benefits we think you'll appreciate within this system are the ability to control organizational contact information, to draft, save and submit online applications, and to upload documents and reports. In implementing this program, we are committing to run all our grants through this system, meaning that you can no longer submit applications, reports or any other forms by email or regular mail.
