Massachusetts Medical Society declares racism a public health crisis

In response to long-established and myriad forms of racism that negatively affect access to and quality of care in historically underrepresented communities, the Massachusetts Medical Society (MMS), through organizational policy, asserted that racism is a public health crisis and acknowledges that "racism is pervasive in all sectors and industries, including health care, and has detrimental effects on MMS members and the public in Massachusetts."
