What’s Happened So Far?
In 2015, the Committee on Strategic Planning identified elements of the Society’s governance structure that could be improved for greater effectiveness and efficiency, and since this time, governance reform has been the focus of several task forces and

In 2021, the Governance Reform Working Group was formed to further the goals of our governance reform initiative, which are to ensure the MMS is well-positioned for continued relevance and impact, setting us up for success for the next 240 years and beyond.

What’s Next?
During the winter and spring of 2022, there will be a number of all-member email communications and virtual meetings during which input from members will be sought and information will be shared.
The MMS’ House of Delegates and membership will review and comment on governance change during the MMS Annual Meeting on May 21, 2022. The MMS is committed to transparency and the inclusion of diverse perspectives in this process.
