PHS Administrative Staff

Our staff expertly handles the diverse array of tasks required to keep the program developing and operating on a day-to-day basis while offering the best possible service and assistance to physicians. Physician Health Services is proud to introduce a professional, experienced, and dedicated staff. 

Deanna Biddy

Deanna M. Biddy

Outreach and Funding Coordinator
Ms. Biddy coordinates outreach efforts with medical schools, directors of medical education of hospitals and other medical organizations. She prepares and develops presentations on physician health topics and organizes external speaking engagements and resource materials in addition to PHS education programs including Managing Workplace Conflict. Ms. Biddy helps organize committee meetings for PHS. She works with the Executive Director of PHS on funding efforts and correspondence. Ms. Biddy received her bachelor’s degree in music and public health from Wheaton College, Norton, MA. She has a background in global and public health promotion.

Deborah Canale

Deborah M. Canale

Office Manager
Ms. Canale is responsible for the implementation, coordination and management of administrative systems, procedures and databases that support the referral and monitoring activities of PHS clients. She supervises the PHS administrative staff and manages work flow to ensure the successful completion of day to day activities. Ms. Canale received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Massachusetts Lowell.

Dipal Dodhia

Dipal Dodhia

Monitoring Services Coordinator  
Ms. Dodhia coordinates all monitoring service activities and quality management, which consists of primary support for the random drug testing program, placing random test calls, reviewing lab results, and tracking and maintaining reports of positive results and prescribed medications. She also coordinates the quarterly report process for monitors of PHS participants under contract and for the Board of Registration in Medicine. Ms. Dodhia received her bachelor’s degree in commerce and master’s degree in human resource management from University of Mumbai, India. She has over 6 years of experience in the field of client account management, client administration, and data administration.

Shaquilla Terry

Sravya Malempati, M.P.H.

Client Services Coordinator
Ms. Malempati is responsible for monitoring and maintaining all client case management activities, including the new referrals, new contracts, and intake data process. She provides administrative assistance for documentation related to clients including compliance letters and consent forms and also coordinates all the requests for information from third parties. She received her bachelor’s degree in biochemistry with a pre-med concentration from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and a master’s degree in public health from University of Massachusetts Amherst. She has a background in teaching and health care administration.

Lucia Whalen

Lucia Whalen

PHS Assistant
Ms. Whalen provides administrative support to the PHS directors, attorney, and professional staff including scheduling appointments, conference calls and meetings related to client case management and PHS administrative matters. She handles incoming phone calls, greets program participants and visitors as well as handles all incoming documents and mail. She coordinates and assists with projects and special events and provides administrative assistance for payment requests and expense reports related to PHS. Ms. Whalen has over 20 years in administrative/customer experience.

ANNOUNCEMENT

PHS is sad to announce that Dr. Steven Adelman has decided to step down from his current position as Medical Director of Physician Health Services, Inc at the end of February 2021. During his eight (8) years of service his efforts have touched the lives and helped the careers of more than one thousand distressed physicians and medical students. He has brought a commitment and passion to the pursuit of PHS’s mission, while expanding the breadth, depth and quality of its services. His success is our success.

Dr. Adelman is planning to pursue other professional interests and opportunities. As PHS begins its search for a new Medical Director, Dr. Adelman will be an important part of our search team, and he will work closely with PHS’s Executive Director, Dr. Bara Litman-Pike.

PHS is very grateful for Dr. Adelman’s leadership and service. His work and that of his staff has been a source of pride to all of us at PHS and MMS. The medical profession and its patients are the ultimate beneficiaries of his tireless efforts.
