16 medical school students are honored as 2017 Massachusetts Medical Society Scholars

Boston, Mass. – March 29th – The Massachusetts Medical Society has selected 16 fourth-year medical school students as Massachusetts Medical Society Scholars for 2017.  Each will receive $10,000.

Applicants were selected by their respective Massachusetts medical schools as meeting MMS award criteria that includes academic achievement, community service, and financial need. Four MMS Selection Committees — comprised of MMS officers, members of MMS education committees, representatives of the MMS student section, and Continuing Education & Certification staff — took into consideration each student’s Statement of Purpose, references, and interview. 

Since the inception of the MMS Scholars Program in 1993, nearly $2 million have been granted to more than 200 students from Massachusetts medical schools.

Boston University School of Medicine

Veronica A. FallerVeronica A. Faller, B.S. in Biomedical Engineering, Boston University.  Medical Student Peer Advisor and Student Leader of Outreach Van Project. As undergraduate, member of Engineering and Bioengineering honor societies. Vice President, Boston, Alpha Eta Mu Beta, National Bioengineering Honor Society.
