Waltham,
Mass. – May 1st – Sandra Delgado of Marion has been elected president of the
Massachusetts Medical Society Alliance, an organization that supports and
promotes health care and medical education among the citizens of the
Commonwealth in conjunction with the Massachusetts Medical Society, the statewide
professional association of physicians.
An
active member of the Alliance for the last 10 years, Mrs. Delgado was elected
at the Annual Meeting of the Alliance on April 29th, held in Boston in conjunction
with the MMS Annual Meeting. She most
recently served as president of the Alliance’s Bristol South District and was
Vice President of the Alliance in 2015.
A
licensed registered nurse, Mrs. Delgado recently retired after more than 40
years in health care, including 10 years at Brockton Hospital and nearly 30 years
as a nursing administrator and chief financial officer of The Professional
Counseling Center, Inc., a multidisciplinary mental health clinic in New
Bedford licensed by the Department of Mental Health.
Mrs.
Delgado earned her undergraduate degree in nursing from Northeastern University
and a graduate degree in health administration from Salve Regina University. She and her husband, Jose Delgado. M.D., a
psychiatrist, live in Marion.
