PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
The New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM) Review CME Program, sponsored by the Massachusetts Medical Society (MMS), is a comprehensive home study learning activity developed by a team of educators, academicians, and clinicians. This program is specifically developed for primary care physicians who wish to advance their current knowledge of clinical medicine and who are involved in providing patient care. In addition, this program will better prepare specialists to practice medicine in a primary care environment.
PROGRAM OBJECTIVES:
After critically evaluating specific articles published in The New England Journal of Medicine, participants in the NEJM Review CME Program should be able to demonstrate an increase in, or affirmation of, their knowledge of clinical medicine. Participants should also be able to evaluate the appropriateness of the clinical data as it applies to their practice and to the provision of patient care.
CME CREDIT/ACCREDITATION:
The MMS designates each educational program for a maximum of fifty (50) hours in Category 1 credit towards the AMA Physician’s Recognition Award. Each physician should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational program, provided it is used and completed according to instructions, and providing a score of 70% or better is achieved. The MMS is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians. The NEJM Review CME Program has been approved by the American Academy of Family Physicians as having educational content acceptable for prescribed credit hours. This program has been approved for up to 50 prescribed credit hours. Term of approval covers issues published within one year from the beginning distribution date for each program. Credit may be claimed for one year from the date of issue.
