Course Overview

The following CME activity was developed from the archives of the presentations recorded at the CMS National E-Prescribing Conference held on October 7, 2008 in Boston, MA. For a complete list of courses developed from this event, go to www.massmed.org/cme/CMS_eprescribing.

The speakers from the three presentation sessions discuss pre-implementation (including the selection of E-prescribing software and achieving buy-in from the group and/or administrative staff), the implementation process, and post-implementation challenges for a variety of settings. Issues covered include new research, decision support, the benefits of E-prescribing and the lessons learned regarding handoffs and other post-implementation issues.
