Panel Question & Answer

DESCRIPTION

The issue of health disparities is timely and important. The Massachusetts Medical Society participated on the Massachusetts Legislative Commission to End Racial and Ethnic Disparities. The AMA recently published a report from AMA Commission to End Health Care Disparities with action steps and the IOM published a report in 2003 on unequal treatment. The goal of the disparities leadership program is to improve patient care by advancing an understanding of the social/cultural/ethnic/language differences and advancing workforce diversity by encouraging minority recruitment into health professions, advancing strategies for clinical decision making and improving access to care.

AUDIENCE

This program is intended for physicians and other leaders in health care and public health.
