Updates in CT Lung Screening
This CME activity is intended for primary care providers to understand the importance of lung cancer screening for their patient population. This activity includes a patient testimonial, review of available literature and research, updated screening guidelines, and ways to increase patient adherence to screening recommendations.

Andrea McKee, MD
Andrea McKee, MD is a partner at Radiation Oncology Associates and currently serves as Chairman of Radiation Oncology at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center’s (LHMC) Sophia Gordon Cancer Center and Lahey Medical Center Peabody. Dr. McKee is a codirector of the Massachusetts State CT Lung Screening Subcommittee and is a member of both the Massachusetts Cancer Prevention and Control Network Steering Committee and the National Lung Cancer Roundtable. She is an advisory board member of the Lung Cancer Alliance and the American Lung Association. Dr. McKee and a team of allied health professionals at LHMC initiated the Rescue Lung, Rescue Life community benefit CT lung-screening program to save lives and open screening access to those at high risk for lung cancer regardless of their financial means. She has coauthored numerous seminal peer-reviewed publications on the design, implementation, and management of clinical CT lung-screening programs and is also an expert in environmental risk factors and lung health in patient care.
Michael T. Myers, Jr., MD, MBA
Dr. Michael Myers is Chief Medical Officer of Compass Medical, a
large primary care group with six practice sites in southeastern Massachusetts.
He is responsible for determining overall strategy for population health and
chronic disease management, managed care cost and quality initiatives, and
scientific policy for Compass Medical’s 100,000 patients and 90 providers. Dr.
Myers is adjunct professor at Stonehill College teaching courses in health care
administration and health sciences.
Before joining Compass in 2011, he was Medical Director for Hawthorn
Medical Associates, a multispecialty group in North Dartmouth, Massachusetts.
He was also a consultant for PricewaterhouseCoopers, Medicare Medical Director
at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, and Associate Medical Director for
Partners Health Care System. Dr. Myers is a board-certified internal medicine
physician with a BA from Johns Hopkins University, MD from Harvard Medical
School and MBA from Northeastern University.
Shawn Regis, PhD
Shawn is a Patient Navigator and Associate Research Scientist at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center, a Clinical Assistant Professor at Tufts University, and the Secretary of the Rescue Lung Society. He is a coauthor of the ALA/ATS Lung Screening Implementation Guide and the Massachusetts Statewide 2017-2021 Cancer Plan and was a member of the advisory committee for an Association of Community Cancers Center initiative to develop an optimal care coordination model for lung cancer patients with Medicaid. Shawn is a coauthor on over a dozen manuscripts pertaining to CT lung screening and has presented across the country and internationally on various CT lung screening topics.
