Dr. Roger Kligler honored by Plymouth District Medical Society as 2023 Community Clinician of the Year
Dr. Roger Kligler, a retired primary care physician from Falmouth, has been selected as the Plymouth District Medical Society’s 2023 Community Clinician of the Year, an award recognizing his professionalism and contributions as a physician.
Kligler was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2002 and needed to retire in 2015 due to multiple medical issues. Since his retirement, he has devoted his time to volunteering with Compassion & Choices, the nation’s oldest and largest nonprofit dedicated
to improving care and expanding options at the end of life. He is a well-known and effective advocate for the passage of legislation that would allow medical aid in dying as an option for those who are terminally ill.
Kligler graduated from Georgetown University School of Medicine in 1978. His internship was at Cornell Cooperating Hospitals and he completed his residency in primary care internal medicine at University California Davis in 1981. After practicing as the
second internist in the county at Little Falls Hospital in New York, he practiced in Brockton from 1982 until he retired due to disability in 2015.
Kligler was the medical director at Goddard Medical Associates and Bridgewater-Goddard Park Medical Associates.
He lives with wife Cathy and spends many hours walking the trails in town with his golden retriever, Lexi. He has three wonderful children, Ben, David and Laura and five grandchildren, Avery, Henry, Miles, Keighley, and Bryson.
