Arts, History, Humanism & Culture Member Interest Network (AHH&C MIN): Arts Section

art collage The Arts Section of the Member Interest Network (MIN) brings physicians together for events involving drawing, painting, sculpting, and other visual arts. The Section sponsors the annual Member Art Exhibit & Silent Auction; the 2018 event involved 32 artists and 46 pieces of art. In addition, the Arts Section hosts rotating exhibits featuring physician members’ artwork in the lobby of the MMS conference center, Waltham.

Rotating Exhibits

Every year, several exhibits of MMS physicians’ artwork are displayed in the lobby of the MMS Headquarters, Waltham. Most exhibits run for about two months. The exhibits feature photography, painting, and sculpture by artists in the MMS and MMS Alliance. View a staff version of the 2021 revolving art exhibit here.

Annual Meeting: Nancy N. Caron Member Art Exhibit & Silent Auction

Every year, the Arts section of the MIN sponsors the Nancy N. Caron Annual Member Art Exhibit and Silent Auction at the MMS Annual Meeting. The event showcases paintings, drawings, photographs, sculptures, woodwork, quilting, stained glass, and other artworks by members of the MMS, the MMS Alliance, and their families, and provides an opportunity for physicians to donate artwork for auction. The event includes a reception. Proceeds from the auction support the MMS & Alliance Charitable Foundation, which funds vital health care initiatives for underserved communities in Massachusetts.

How to Show or Auction Your Artwork

The 2019 exhibit and auction will take place in May 2019 at the Seaport Hotel, Boston, during the MMS Annual Meeting. The registration deadline and instructions will be announced shortly.
