Collection of Historical Information of the Plymouth District Medical Society

The Plymouth District Medical Society received these three (3) books from Ms. Catherine Moore, Librarian at Signature Health care of Brockton Hospital in June 2017.

These three Books from Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital archives were released to the Plymouth District Medical Society (established in 1851) and digitized before being sent to the Francis A. Countway Library of Medicine/ BML for their archives:

  1. Massachusetts Medical Society Plymouth Board of Censors 1875-1906
  2. Massachusetts Medical Society of Board of Censors – 1907-1938
  3. Records of Plymouth District Medical Society 1881-1940


Also, included is a book that was digitized for the PDMS during the year Dr. Richard S. Pieters, long time member of the Society was MMS President in 2014-2015. 

This book is a celebration of the sixtieth Anniversary of the organization Plymouth District Medical Society, from 1851 to 1911. (this book was received by the MMS in 1984, by a Dr. Joseph Valatka of Abington, MA and forwarded by Dr. Richard Rosen, according to the notation in the book’s inside cover as signed by William B. Munier, MD, Executive Vice President)
