Massachusetts Medical Society: Massachusetts Medical Society on Board of Education masking decision

Massachusetts Medical Society on Board of Education masking decision

The physicians of the Massachusetts Medical Society thank the Baker administration, Commissioner Riley and the Massachusetts Board of Elementary and Secondary Education for taking an important step toward ensuring that the students of the Commonwealth are protected from contracting and transmitting COVID-19 and have the opportunity to learn in-person with little disruption.

Masking is a mitigation measure that is proven to reduce the spread of the virus. It is imperative that we closely follow public health metrics throughout the school year and allow the data to steer future guidance aimed at achieving a safe environment for all students, teachers, and staff.
