Health care is a basic human right, and healing can only happen in an accessible environment free from fear and intimidation. The PROTECT Act ensures that Massachusetts hospitals and clinical settings remain safe and welcoming for all patients and staff. No patient should ever delay or avoid essential medical care because they are afraid to walk through the doors of a hospital, physician’s office, or clinic.
The Massachusetts Medical Society applauds Governor Healey for signing this critical legislation and for standing with physicians to protect patients, strengthen our communities, and preserve health care facilities as places of healing.
