Shadi Kiriaki, M.D., named Bristol North District Medical Society 2020 Community Clinician of the Year

Dr. Shadi KiriakiWALTHAM – Dr. Shadi Kiriaki has been selected as the Bristol North District Medical Society’s 2020 Community Clinician of the Year, an award recognizing him for his professionalism and contributions as a physician.

Dr. Kiriaki is a board-certified emergency medicine physician at Morton Hospital in Taunton and has been in practice for over 18 years. A 1999 graduate of Providence College and a 2004 medical school graduate from Georgetown University, Dr. Kiriaki completed his residency training at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, NY in 2007.

Nominated by Dr. Allison Ramler, MPH, chief of emergency medicine at Morton, Dr. Kiriaki is being recognized for his exceptional service to his patients, his hospital, and to his colleagues.

For more than 10 years, Dr. Kiriaki has been predominately a “night” physician. He works tirelessly during the off hours to ensure that the patients of Taunton and the surrounding areas are given the same level of care during the night as they are during the day. According to colleagues, his clinical skills are outstanding, and he treats all patients with the utmost kindness and compassion.

Due to the COVID-19 crisis, the Bristol North District Medical Society had to cancel its annual meeting last May, the highlight of which was to have been the presentation of the 2020 Community Clinician of the Year Award to Dr. Kiriaki with his family, friends and colleagues in attendance. In lieu of the public ceremony, the district will alternative arrangements to honor Kiriaki,

The Community Clinician of the Year Award was established in 1998 by the Massachusetts Medical Society to recognize a physician from each of the Society’s 20 district medical societies who has made significant contributions to his or her patients and the community. The Bristol North District is comprised of nearly 200 physicians who live and work in Bristol area communities.
