Important Notice About "Phishing"
Some subscribers to the MMS member email service, massmed.org, have received messages from entities pretending to be the MMS. These emails state that you must validate your account online. These are known in the industry as "phishing" emails.
Unless you are expecting an email from MMS to reset your website password, be VERY SUSPICIOUS of emails that ask you to validate your username, password, or other account information.
The risk to you is that the unscrupulous sender could inject a virus or other malicious software into your computer or computer network.
For your general protection:
- NEVER click a link or open an attachment in an email unless you are absolutely positive that you are expecting it and the email is from a trusted person or company.
- NEVER enable macros in document attachments that you receive via email.
- If you ever encounter a strange attachment or a strange email, do not hesitate to contact the help desk immediately at (800) 322-2303 ext. 7321 or support@massmed.org.
