New Mass. Requirement: All Prescriptions Must Now Be Written on Tamper-Resistant Pads

On July 1, 2013, a new state law took effect requiring Massachusetts physicians to use tamper-resistant prescription pads for all written prescriptions, for all drug schedules, including Schedule VI. These tamper-resistant pads must meet the federal requirements for writing Medicaid prescriptions on tamper-resistant pads, which have been in effect since 2008.
