Waltham -- April 19 -- North Easton resident Richard B. McArdle, M.D., a physician at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton, has been honored by his peers of the Plymouth District Medical Society as its 2016 Community Clinician of the Year, an award recognizing his professionalism and accomplishments as a physician. He received the award April 6 at the annual meeting of the District Society held at the Neighborhood Club of Quincy.
Dr. McArdle has been a wound care specialist at Good Samaritan since September of 2014. Prior to his current position, he was a physician at Brockton Urology and Greater Brockton Urology for 38 years. He has been on the active staffs of both the Good Samaritan Medical Center and Brockton Hospital since 1976.
Board certified in urology, Dr. McArdle served as Chief of the Department of Urology at Good Samaritan from 1989-2014. He has also served as President of the Medical Staff at Good Samaritan and has been a member of the hospital’s Board of Directors since 2001. In 2006, the hospital honored him with its Caring with Excellence Award.
Dr. McArdle received his bachelor’s degree from Boston College and his medical degrees from Tufts University School of Medicine. A member of the Massachusetts Medical Society since 1975, Dr. McArdle is also a member of the American Urological Association and the New England Section of the AUA.
The Community Clinician of the Year Award was established in 1998 by the Massachusetts Medical Society to recognize a physician from each of the Society’s 20 district medical societies who has made significant contributions to his or her patients and the community. The Plymouth District has nearly 600 physician members who live and work throughout Plymouth County.
