Waltham – March 24th – Jason Reynolds,
M.D., Ph.D., a physician with Wareham Pediatric Associates, has been honored by
his peers of the Bristol South District Medical Society as the district’s 2017
Community Clinician of the Year, an honor recognizing his professionalism and
contributions as a physician.
Dr. Reynolds joined Wareham Pediatric
Associates in 2002, following his post-graduate medical training at
Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and Boston Children’s Hospital.
He is a member of the active medical
staff at Tobey Hospital and the Boston Children’s Hospital adjunct medical
staff. He served as Chief of Pediatrics
at Tobey Hospital from 2010-2011. He is
also a member of the Pediatric Physicians Organization at Boston Children’s
Hospital and served as a member of its board of directors from 2011-2014 and as
Chair of its Information Technology Steering Committee from 2011-2016.
Dr. Reynolds has
lived in Marion since 2003 and from 2006-2009
served as a member of the Marion Board of Health. He was re-elected to that Board in 2016.
Dr. Reynolds has previously been honored
with the Community Pediatrician Award from Boston Children’s Hospital, the
Department of Pediatrics Resident Scholar Award and the Resident Excellence in
Teaching Award from Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, and membership in Alpha
Omega Alpha, the national medical honor society.
In 2016, Dr. Reynolds ran two
half-marathons to raise money for UMass Medical Center's Organ Transplant
program and the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
This April he will be running the Boston Marathon to raise money for
Boston Children's Hospital.
Dr. Reynolds earned his B.S., magna
cum laude with University Honors, from the University of New Hampshire, and
his Ph.D. and M.D. from Dartmouth Medical School.
The Community
Clinician of the Year award was established in 1998 by the Massachusetts
Medical Society to recognize a physician from each of the Society’s 20 district
medical societies and recognizes member physicians for their significant
contributions to their patients and the community. The Bristol South District
has more than 300 physician members who practice in Bristol County.
The Massachusetts Medical Society, with some
