David Babin, M.D. is honored by Barnstable District Medical Society as 2017 Community Clinician of the Year

Dr. David BabinWaltham – April 4th – Falmouth resident David S. Babin, M.D. has been honored by his physician peers of the Barnstable District Medical Society as the district’s 2017 Community Clinician of the Year, an honor recognizing his professionalism and contributions as a physician. He will receive the award at the district’ annual meeting April 7 at the New Seabury Country Club in Mashpee. 

Dr. Babin has practiced orthopedic surgery on Cape Cod for nearly 50 years.  He was appointed to the active staff of Falmouth Hospital beginning in 1967 and subsequently served three terms as Chief of the Department of Surgery at the hospital.  A Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Dr. Babin was also a member of the consulting staff of Martha’s Vineyard Hospital for 30 years.

A member of the board of directors of the Massachusetts Orthopaedic Association, Dr. Babin is a corporate member of Cape Cod Healthcare and a member of the House of Delegates of the Massachusetts Medical Society.  He received his A.B. from Harvard College and his M.D. from Boston University School of Medicine.  

The Community Clinician of the Year Award was established in 1998 by the Massachusetts Medical Society to recognize a physician from each of the Society’s 20 district medical societies who has made significant contributions to his or her patients and the community. The Barnstable District is comprised of nearly 500 physicians who live or work on Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket.
