Dr. George Ellsworth is honored by Middlesex West District Medical Society as 2017 Community Clinician of the Year

Dr. George EllsworthWaltham -- April 7th – Dr. George Ellsworth, M.D. has been honored by his physician peers of the Middlesex West District Medical Society as its 2017 Community Clinician of the Year, an award recognizing his professionalism and contributions as a physician.   

Since 1989, Dr. Ellsworth, a psychiatrist, has been in private practice in Framingham specializing in psychotherapy and psychopharmacology. 

He is Director of Consultation/Liaison Psychiatry at MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham, where he chairs both the Graduate Medical Education Committee and the Continuing Medical Education Committee. He is also a consulting psychiatrist for Wellesley College.  

A cum laude graduate of Kansas State University, Dr. Ellsworth earned his M.D. from Harvard Medical School. He completed his internship at the University of Vermont, his residency in psychiatry at the Massachusetts Mental Health Center, and a Fellowship in Liaison Psychiatry at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York.  

He has been a member of the Massachusetts Medical Society’s House of Delegates from the Middlesex West District since 1995. He resides in Brookline. 

The Community Clinician of the Year Award was established in 1998 by the Massachusetts Medical Society to recognize a physician from each of the Society’s 20 district medical societies who has made significant contributions to his or her patients and the community. The Middlesex West District is comprised of nearly 600 physicians who work and live in 18 communities in the MetroWest area.   

The Massachusetts Medical Society, with some 25,000 physicians and student members, is dedicated to educating and advocating for the patients and physicians of Massachusetts.
