WALTHAM – Dr. Lynda
G. Kabbash has been selected as the Norfolk District Medical Society’s 2018
Community Clinician of the Year, an award recognizing her professionalism and
contributions as a physician.
Kabbash, a
Chestnut Hill resident, is a practicing physician, specializing in allergy and
immunology at New England Baptist Hospital and Atrius Health and is Chair of
the Women Physician’s Section at the American Medical Association.
“Dr. Lynda Gail
Kabbash cared for many patients throughout their lives and honored their needs
with alleviation of pain and suffering and, as well supported them and their
families,” said colleague Mangadhara R. Madineedi, MD, FACP, who nominated Dr. Kabbash for the award.
“Dr. Kabbash has superb clinical acumen and excellent probity with her gentle
and compassionate care and approach.”
In her role with
Massachusetts Medical Society’s Committee on Women in Medicine, Kabbash serves
as a mentor to female medical students and residents.
Kabbash received
her medical degree and specialty and research training from McGill University
and Rockefeller University.
The Community
Clinician of the Year Award was established in 1998 by the Massachusetts
Medical Society to recognize a physician from each of the organization’s 20
district societies who has made significant contributions to his or her
patients and the community.
The Massachusetts Medical Society (MMS) is the
statewide professional association for physicians and medical students,
supporting 25,000 members. We are dedicated to educating and advocating for the
physicians of Massachusetts and patients locally and nationally. A leadership
