Massachusetts Medical Society: COVID-19 Vaccine Program for Physicians in Independent Practice

COVID-19 Vaccine Program for Physicians in Independent Practice

The Massachusetts COVID-19 Command Center and Department of Public Health, in collaboration with Mass General Brigham and the Massachusetts Medical Society, is launching a program to facilitate access to the COVID-19 vaccine for independent physician practices prioritized under Phase 1 of the Commonwealth’s Vaccine Distribution Plan, starting with COVID-facing health care workers.

To be a part of the program for office-based vaccination, a practice must:

Important information for qualifying practices:

Under this initiative, a hospital serving each region of the state has been identified to act as a “depot” to assist the Commonwealth with its distribution efforts. For practices that are unable, due to their size and capacity, to receive larger, direct allocations of vaccine, a depot will redistribute vaccine and all ancillary materials for office-based vaccination or will provide direct vaccination to health care workers.

To inquire about being directly administered a vaccine at a depot, please skip to question 4 on the intake form.

The MMS will contact qualifying practices to discuss next steps including scheduling times for vaccine pick up at the local depot or direct administration of the vaccine at the local depot.

For more information and questions, please contact the MMS via email at: PPRC@mms.org.
