Hasan Bazari

Hasan Bazari, MD, FACP (Albert Einstein College of Medicine, New York, 1983; residency: MGH), received the Award for Outstanding Educator of Residents and Fellows from the American College of Physicians. Dr. Bazari, a nephrologist, is associate professor of medicine and program director emeritus of the Internal Medicine Residency Program at MGH.

Raphael Bueno

Raphael Bueno, MD (Harvard Medical School, 1985; residency: general surgery at BWH and thoracic surgery at MGH), has been awarded substantial, multi-year grants from the National Cancer Institute and the Department of Defense for mesothelioma research. Dr. Bueno is chief of the Division of Thoracic Surgery and the Fredric Levin Distinguished Chair in Thoracic Surgery and Lung Cancer Research at BWH.

Michelle Dalal

Michelle Dalal, MD (State University of New York, State University at Stonybrook School of Medicine, 2000; residency: Brown Alpert Medical School, Hasbro Children’s Hospital), was named the 2017 Health Equity Hero by Delta Dental. Dr. Dalal practices at Reliant Medical Group, is clinical associate professor at UMass Medical School, chairs the Massachusetts Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics Oral Health Committee, and serves on the MMS Committee on Oral Health.

Joseph Loscalzo

Joseph Loscalzo, MD, PhD (University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, 1978; residency: BWH; fellowship: BWH), received the American Heart Association’s 2017 Gold Heart Award — the organization’s highest honor. Dr. Loscalzo is physician-in-chief at BWH, Hersey Professor of the Theory and Practice of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, and former editor-in-chief of the AHA’s journal, Circulation.

Roger Schutt

Roger C. Schutt, DO (University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine, 1986; family practice residency: Massachusetts Osteopathic Hospital and Medical Center), has been honored with Beth Israel Deaconess HealthCare’s (BIDHC) Golden Stethoscope Award for leadership and exceptional patient care. Dr. Schutt, a primary care physician, is medical director of the BIDHC Extended Care Community Program and medical director for post-acute care for the Beth Israel Deaconess Care Organization.
