Bryan D. Choi, MD

Bryan D. Choi, MD, PhD (Duke University School of Medicine, 2014; residency: MGH), received a postdoctoral Fellowship Award from the Society of Immunotherapy for Cancer and AstraZeneca. Dr. Choi is a clinical fellow in neurosurgery at MGH.

 

 

Cheryl R. Clark, MD, ScD

Cheryl R. Clark, MD, ScD (Stanford University School of Medicine, 2003; residency: BWH), led the team that won this year’s Quality and Safety Innovation Award at Partners HealthCare. The team’s project centered on addressing health- related social needs. Dr. Clark is program director of Health Equity Research and Intervention in the Center for Community Health and Health Equity at BWH.

Michael F. Collins, MD, FACP

Michael F. Collins, MD, FACP (Tufts University School of Medicine, 1981; residency: St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center), was selected as a 2018 Power Player by the Worcester Business Journal in the Higher Education & Nonprofits category. Dr. Collins, recognized for growing UMass Medical School during this tenure as chancellor, also serves as senior vice president for health sciences across the University of Massachusetts system.

Paul M. Copeland, MD

Paul M. Copeland, MD (Yale University School of Medicine, 1978; residency: Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania), received an Albert Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award from the Marquis Who’s Who. Previously, Dr. Copeland was recognized by the Endocrine Society with the Outstanding Clinical Practitioner Award. Dr. Copeland is chief of the endocrinology division at North Shore Medical Center and practices with the MGH Weight Center.

Joan W. Miller, MD

Joan W. Miller, MD (HMS, 1985; residency: HMS Ophthalmology; Fellowship: Mass. Eye and Ear Vitreoretinal Surgery and Research), was awarded the Lucien Howe Medal from the American Ophthalmological Society. Dr. Miller is the fifth woman to receive the medal since the award’s inception in 1922. Dr. Miller is the David Glendenning Cogan Professor and Chair of Ophthalmology at HMS, and the chief of ophthalmology at Massachusetts Eye and Ear and MGH.

Michelle E. Morse, MD, MPH

Michelle E. Morse, MD, MPH (University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, 2008; residency: BWH), was chosen as a 2018 Soros Equality Fellow to advance the Social Medicine Consortium’s Campaign Against Racism, cofounded with Michael Westerhaus, MD, MA. The fellowship supports projects promoting racial justice. Dr. Morse is founding co-director of EqualHealth and associate physician in the Division of Global Health Equity at BWH.

Lisa S. Rotenstein, MD, MBA<

Lisa S. Rotenstein, MD, MBA (HMS 2017; residency: BWH), was chosen as a Spotlight Health Scholar at the Aspen Ideas Festival, a conference of global leaders and innovators held by The Aspen Institute and The Atlantic. The award recognized Dr. Rotenstein’s ability to transform ideas into action, visible both in her work at BWH and cofounding the startup CareZooming. Dr. Rotenstein is a resident physician in internal medicine at BWH.
