In recognition of the complexity and onerous penalties of the Stark Law, the Massachusetts Medical Society is working to develop a series of briefs and accompanying webinars that will help providers better understand the law and how it applies to them.
This education series is meant to provide individuals with:
- An overview of the basics of the Stark Law
- The most common exceptions to the law
- The benefits for group practices under the law
- The key elements of compensation exceptions
- Considerations for various practice structures, including physicians employed by a hospital and faculty practice plan, as well as independent providers
