Margaret Igne has been elected president of the Massachusetts Medical Society Alliance, an organization that supports and promotes health care and medical education among the citizens of the Commonwealth in conjunction with the Massachusetts Medical Society, the statewide professional association of physicians. Margaret was elected at the Annual Meeting of the Alliance held on May 17, 2025. She served as president-elect from 2022-2024, president of the Boston District Alliance for many years, held the office of Alliance president from 2005-2007 and has been an active member of the alliance for the past 35 years and a liaison on several MMS Committees.
After twenty years, she is back in office with the same enthusiasm, goals and with more empathy and confidence.
Margaret is an avid advocate for justice for all, equity, equality and ending food insecurities, working with shelters for battered women and children as well advocating for healthy food for the past 30 years.
